Job Description
Data Migration projects are a bit like moving house…
(…stay with me…I’m pretty sure this is the first time anyone has used this analogy.)
Everyone’s relaxed about timelines right up until sh*t starts getting real and half the boxes still aren’t packed properly.
(10/10 from me. Let me know what you think)
That’s more or less why this role exists.
My client is looking for a Data Migration Lead to come into a large S/4HANA transformation and bring a bit more control, momentum, and accountability to the migration workstream.
They don’t necessarily need the world’s deepest data migration SME. What they do need is someone who understands complex programmes, can manage plans properly, challenge where needed, and stop things quietly drifting off track.
Think strong Project Manager with solid data migration exposure rather than a hands-on technical migration specialist.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Leading the data migration workstream within a wider S/4HANA programme
-
Managing plans, milestones, dependencies, and delivery risks
-
Working closely with delivery partners and internal stakeholders
-
Keeping teams aligned and driving accountability across the programme
-
Supporting cutover planning and ensuring migration activity stays on track
-
Bringing structure and momentum to a workstream that needs a firmer hand on the wheel
What you’ll need to apply:
-
Strong Project Management experience within large transformation programmes
-
Experience working on programmes involving data migration and/or cutover activity
-
Someone confident challenging timelines, dependencies, and delivery risks
-
Comfortable operating across technical and non-technical stakeholders
-
Experience within ERP or S/4HANA environments
This is an initial 4 month contract paying around £550 per day outside IR35. There will be some onsite work required in the North so you’ll need to be comfortable with some travel.
